Bijan Zamani
Bijan Zamani (born October 16, 1975 in Berlin ) is a German actor .
Life
Zamani has a Persian name. He completed his acting training from 1997 to 2001 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . From 2001 to 2005 he was then engaged at the Mainz State Theater , where he played, among others, Ariel in Shakespeare's late work Der Sturm , the Petersburg officials Chlestakow in Der Auditor and the aviator Yang Sun in Brecht's The Good Man of Sezuan .
From the 2005/06 season he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Stuttgart , starting with Hasko Weber until 2013 . There he played in productions by Hasko Weber, René Pollesch , Volker Lösch and Thomas Dannemann . His roles at the Schauspiel Stuttgart included a. a. Mephisto in Goethe's Faust (2005; Director: Hasko Weber), the title role in Woyzeck (2009; Director: Michael Baumann / Eike Hannemann), "The Social Worker" (in the original: Pilger Luka) in Nachtasyl (2009; Director: Volker Lösch) , the water seller Wang in Sezuan's Good Man (2011; director: Thomas Dannemann) and Aigisthos in Die Orestie (2013; director: Volker Lösch). The author weekend "Freedom and Art" in February 2012, he directed the play A Couple of Poor, Polish-speaking Romanians by Dorota Masłowska direct.
In the 2014/15 season, Zamani switched to the ensemble of the Munich Residenztheater . There he has so far u. a. as Emma Bovary's lover Rodolphe Boulanger in Albert Ostermaier's stage version of Madame Bovary (2014/15 season), Maeccenas in Antonius und Cleopatra (2014/15 season premiere, director: Thomas Dannemann), Soljenyj in Drei Schwestern (2014/15 season premiere, director : Tina Lanik ), Phryxus in Das goldene Vlies (premiere season 2015/16, director: Anne Lenk ) and Kreon in König Ödipus (premiere season 2015/16, director: Mateja Koležnik ). In February 2016, he took on the leading role of Amir Kapoor in the German premiere of the play Outlaw by the American author and Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akthar at the Munich Residenztheater, directed by Antoine Uitdehaag .
Zamani also worked in numerous film and television productions, where he was often cast in roles of foreign origin or with a migrant background. In the Lena Odenthal - Tatort: Deadly Mission , which premiered in May 2009, he played the Turkish Kerem Yıldız. In the movie Without You (2014) he played Navid, the ex-boyfriend and former employer of the cleaning lady Layla ( Meral Perin ), who left her because of a younger woman. In February 2016, Zamani appeared in the ZDF crime series Unter Verdacht in the episode Betongold as Bulgarian construction manager Metodi Nontchew.
He also had episode roles in the television series SOKO Stuttgart (2010; as suspect Klaus Thal), SOKO Vienna (2011; as Bulgarian construction worker Alexander Benev) and Coast Guard (2013; as Chechen terrorist Bulat Kallima).
Zamani also worked as a speaker for audio books and radio plays , u. a. in the Republic of the Crazy (2012, broadcast in 2013 on Deutschlandradio Kultur ).
Zamani lives in Munich.
