Viktor Vogel - Commercial Man is a German comedy film by Lars Kraume from 2001, which satirically deals with the media and advertising industry . Alexander Scheer played the leading roles alongside Götz George , the script was developed by Lars Kraume and Thomas Schlesinger.

action

The young Viktor Vogel dreams of a job in the advertising industry. He doesn't let the numerous rejections of his applications get him down: To introduce himself personally, he brazenly bursts into a meeting of the Frankfurt advertising agency Brainstorm, which is currently presenting the advertising campaign for the new Speedster to its potential customer Opel . Viktor's appearance causes the business to fail, which is why he draws the ire of brainstorm boss Werner Stahl. Opel's Marketing Director Johanna von Schulenberg, however, is impressed by Viktor's self-confident and direct appearance, which prompts the advertising agency to hire Viktor in order to win the project with his help. In his role model, the creative director of Brainstorm, Eddie Kaminsky, Viktor finds an ally. Despite his professional success, things are not going so well for Viktor privately. In order to survive in the advertising world, he steals an idea for an advertising campaign from his girlfriend - the artist Rosa Braun - whereupon Rosa breaks up. Only now are Viktor slowly beginning to have doubts.

Trivia

The companies appearing in the film and their advertising campaigns are almost entirely real, which makes the film itself an advertisement and thus reinforces the satirical aspects. Opel also used this in an article in the customer magazine Start - Das Opel-Magazin (issue 1/2001, p. 46/47 Alles Kino ).

Götz George drives one of the two prototypes of the Opel GT Aero in the film ; a Targa , like the Speedster.
