Bijou
Bijou [ biˈʒu ] (plural: Bijoux [ biˈʒu ]) is a French term , which is also common in German-speaking Switzerland, for a gem , a valuable item, a jewel , a piece of jewelry or a specialty. In relation to people it corresponds to the endearing word " treasure ".
Freemasonry
In Masonic terminology, Bijou describes a mostly elaborately crafted lodge badge. A connection to the military badge ( see also: Feldloge ) or other paraphernalia of a professional group is assumed .
