occupation

Bikini Frankenstein is an American erotic film from director Fred Olen Ray under the pseudonym Nicholas Medina, who as a 2010 television production for the transmitter chain Cinemax was filmed. It is based on the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley .

action

Dr. Victor Frankenstein loses his professorship after having sex with cheerleader Debbie, daughter of Dean Van Sloene. He then retired to his home in Transylvania, where he and his assistant Ingrid carried out his research. After 5 years he finally succeeds in bringing the dead body of a woman named Eve to life with the help of the energy of a thunderstorm. He travels back to America with her to meet his former colleagues Van Sloane and Dr. Waldman and especially his rival Clyde and his wife Claudia. After first introducing Eve as Ingrid's sister, he ultimately reveals the true nature of women as a result of his experiment. During a final homoerotic scene in which all three women are present, Eve explodes due to the excessive excitement.

background

The film was produced by the production company Retromedia Entertainment . From the summer of 2010 it was broadcast several times at fixed times and "on demand" on the Cinemax network.

It was released on DVD on January 19, 2010.

The first indications of a film called "Bikini Frankenstein" came from the film " Bikini Airways " by the same director. However, no such film was released for a long time and the title was dismissed as a joke. Due to the high demand for films by Cinemax, Fred Olen Ray went through old concepts again and finally decided that "Bikini Frankenstein" was finally feasible. The film was shot at the same time as " Twilight Vamps ", which is also noticeable in a large number of personal overlaps.

reception

While Dr. Gore Jayden Cole's performance was highlighted by Mitch Lovell of The Video Vacuum , who rated it as poor compared to Christine Nguyen and Brandin Rackley. He praises the latter in particular for their convincing portrayal of the role during the sex scenes. Tars Tarkas gives the film 8 out of 10 points and Obscure Horror rates it as "a funny, entertaining film with some great actors and countless softcore sex scenes".

Finally, HK and Cult Film News especially praises the allusions to earlier Frankenstein films as well as the music and cinematography.
