Billinghausen is a district of the Lippe town of Lage in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until it was incorporated into Lage on January 1, 1970, Billinghausen was an independent municipality.

history

The oldest surviving document that mentions the village of Billinghausen comes from the year 1215. At that time the place was still called "Byllygissen"; in 1227 the place is called "Billinkissen", in 1230 "Billincgessen". The current name Billinghausen first appears around 1500. For centuries Billinghausen was a peasantry and later an independent political community.

education

Parts of Müssen also belong to the school district of the Billinghausen primary school . A total of around 100 pupils are taught ( as of 2006 ). The school is single-class in all four classes.

On July 31, 2013, the primary school was closed. Elementary school students from Billingshausen have in the 2.1 km distant elementary school now need .

The city of Lage in Billinghausen has a day-care center for early childhood education .

Road crew

The right-wing extremist organization Road Crew ran a clubhouse from 2007 to 2011 in a former restaurant . Among other things, concerts by numerous right-wing rock bands such as Category C or Sleipnir took place there. In 2014 the Road Crew bought an old train station in nearby Ehlenbruch.
