Lower Saxony Bingo Environment Foundation

The Lower Saxony Bingo Foundation for Environment and Development Cooperation (short: Bingo Environment Foundation or NBU) is a foundation under civil law based in Hanover. It was founded in 1989 with the name "Lower Saxony Environmental Foundation" in response to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster . In 2009 the "Lower Saxony Environmental Foundation" merged with the "Lower Saxony Lottery Foundation". The official name of the new foundation has since been "Lower Saxony Bingo Foundation for Environment and Development Cooperation".

In addition to mandatory state tasks, the foundation supports environmental and nature conservation projects as well as projects for the benefit of development cooperation and monument preservation . Funding is based on sustainability , voluntary work and active nature conservation .
