Birgit Rätsch

Birgit Rätsch (* 1965 ), who also published under her married name Birgit Rätsch-Langejürgen , is a German journalist and specialist book author who was primarily known as an author for Bavarian television and for films for youth education.

Life

Birgit Rätsch studied political science , modern history and communication studies at the LMU Munich . During her studies, she worked as a permanent project assistant at the Institute for Contemporary History on an edition of sources on the subject of German resistance to National Socialism in the years 1933–1945. In 1995 she graduated Magna cum Laude with a doctorate to become Dr. phil. from. For her doctorate (with Eckhard Jesse ) she received a scholarship from the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung .

Birgit Rätsch published articles, reports and reviews in well-known newspapers such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Münchner Merkur , the Tz München, the FAZ and the Tagesspiegel . Since January 1995 she has been working as a writer for Bavarian television. She also makes films for other broadcasters, e.g. B. for Arte and ARD and for the Media Future Team.

Birgit Rätsch worked as a consultant for the foundation on July 20, 1944 .

Her book The Principle of Resistance is considered a standard work on Ernst Niekisch and is received internationally.

The didactic feature film Imagework , shot in 2006 and for which she was responsible for the screenplay, was awarded the Comenius EduMedia seal in Vienna that same year as a “recommended didactic multimedia product for school, education, further education and adult education” . The film was shown in 2007 at the LUCAS children's film festival in Frankfurt a. M. and at the Festicine Kids Festival in Cartagena , and in 2008 at the 23rd International Business Film Days in Vienna.

She also wrote the script for the 2014 film Mobber's End , which was funded by the Dominik Brunner Foundation and the KJR . The film met with wide media coverage. The film has been translated into several languages ​​and is available in French and Portuguese, among others.
