Birgit Unterweger

Birgit Unterweger (born August 2, 1976 in Linz , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Birgit Unterweger grew up as the daughter of an Austrian entrepreneur and a teacher in Linz. After graduating from high school, Unterweger completed an apprenticeship at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . She gained her first stage experience with a performance of Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream as part of the Salzburg Festival . Her first engagement took place from 1997 to 2001 at the German National Theater in Weimar under the direction of Günther Beelitz . From 2000 to 2008 she was engaged at the Schauspiel Dortmund . In the 2007/08 season she was also a guest at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where she took part in the plays Pornography ( Christoph Mehler ) and The bitter tears of Petra von Kant ( Philipp Preuss ). In summer 2008 she moved to the Schauspiel Leipzig under the direction of Sebastian Hartmann , where she stayed until 2013. In the 2013/14 season she was again a member of the ensemble at the German National Theater in Weimar. She has been a member of the Schauspiel Stuttgart ensemble since the 2014/15 season .

She worked u. a. with the directors Wolfgang Maria Bauer , Michael Gruner , Uwe Hergenröder , Jürgen Kruse , Amelie Niermeyer , Katja Paryla , Georg Schmiedleitner , Herrman Schmidt-Rahmer and Christopher Rüping .

Unterweger has two children and lives with the actor Manuel Harder .
