Philipp Preuss

Philipp Preuss (born December 3, 1974 in Bregenz , Austria) is an Austrian director and author. Preuss works between visual and performing arts.

Life

Preuss, born in Bregenz and raised in Vienna, studied directing and acting at the Mozarteum Salzburg as well as theater studies and philosophy in Vienna and has been a freelance director since 2001. He lives in Berlin.

Works and works originate from him. a. at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , Theater Dortmund, Schauspiel Frankfurt , Deutsches Theater Berlin , Schaubühne Berlin , Schauspiel Leipzig , Residenztheater Munich . Since 2001 Preuss has also been staging exhibitions with fictional, virtual artist figures portrayed by actors; he extends the concept of theater to include the visual arts. In 2010 he founded the Shanzhai Institute theater group.
