Rut Birgitta Dahl (born September 20, 1937 in Råda socken , Västergötland ) is a Swedish politician and member of the Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti . She was a member of the Reichstag from 1969 to 2002 and held several ministerial posts one after the other. Between 1982 and 1987 she was Minister in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Environment and Energy Minister 1987–1990, Environment Minister 1990–1991 and President of Parliament 1994–2002. Birgitta Dahl was a member of the Party Presidium of the Social Democrats for many years. From 2005 to 2011 she was the chairwoman of UNICEF in Sweden.
