List of the Bishops of Pomesania
The following people were bishops of Pomesania .
The Catholic diocese of Pomesania was founded in 1259. The bishopric was Marienwerder ; in the 14th century it was moved to Riesenburg . With the conversion of Bishop Erhard von Queis to Protestantism , the Catholic part was transferred to the diocese of Pelplin in 1524 , whose bishops from then on carried the title of Bishop of Kulm and Pomesanien .
In 1587 the diocese was withdrawn by the Prussian administrator Margrave Georg Friedrich I (Brandenburg-Ansbach-Kulmbach) .
