Reust is part of the municipality of Rückersdorf in the district of Greiz in Thuringia .

geography

Reust is a round village in the arable farming area east of Gera with a transition to the Altenburg hilly landscape. To the west, the district borders the heights of the White Elster Lowlands near Wünschendorf . Rückersdorf is not far to the southeast and can be reached via Landesstraße 1081. Reust was due to the former overburden dumps of the uranium mining of the SDAG Wismut .

The village was first mentioned on April 22nd, 1261. On July 1, 1950, Reust was incorporated into Rückersdorf. The village was and is rural.

Reuster tower

Buildings

The Evangelical Lutheran church in Reust is partly Gothic and has a late Gothic winged altar that was made around 1500.

Furthermore, there is the Reuster tower ( Bismarck column ) , from which one has a wide view over the area shaped by the bismuth . The Reuster Tower is open from 2 p.m. on the weekends from Easter to the end of October. The Thuringian flag indicates the opening of the tower.
