history
The Diocese of Benjamin Aceval was established on June 28, 1980 by Pope John Paul II from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Concepción (Paraguay) and the Apostolic Vicariate of Pilcomayo and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Asunción as a suffragan .
