The Diocese of Maasin ( lat. : Dioecesis Maasinensis ) is the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese based in Maasin . It includes the Southern Leyte Province and the municipalities of Matalom , Bato , Hilongos , Hindang , Inopacan and Baybay in the Leyte Province .

The diocese Maasin was on March 23, 1968 by Pope Paul VI. Established with the Apostolic Constitution Dei Filium from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Palo and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan .
