The Bistum Mahenge ( lat. : Dioecesis Mahengensis ) is an in Tanzania preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Mahenge .

history

The diocese Mahenge was on April 21, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Praeceptum illud from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam and subordinated to this as a suffragan . On January 14, 2012, the Diocese of Mahenge gave up parts of its territory to establish the Diocese of Ifakara .
