The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mweka ( lat. : Dioecesis Mvekaensis ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Mweka .

history

The diocese Mweka was on March 24, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Luluabourg as Apostolic Prefecture Mweka . On September 29, 1964, the Apostolic Prefecture Mweka was by Pope Paul VI. elevated to the diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Sanctorum mater .

The diocese of Mweka is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Kananga as a suffragan .
