The Bistum Namibe ( lat. : Dioecesis Namibana ) is in Angola preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Moçâmedes (1985-2016 Namibe ). It includes the province of Namibe .
history
Pope Benedict XVI founded it on March 21, 2009 from cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Lubango , to which it was also subordinated as a Suffragan diocese. The first local ordinary was Mateus Feliciano Augusto Tomás from its foundation on March 21, 2009 until his death on October 30, 2010.
