history

The diocese of Neyyattinkara was established on June 14, 1996 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ad aptius from cession of territory from the Diocese of Trivandrum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Verapoly as a suffragan . First Bishop was Vincent Samuel .

On June 17, 2004, the diocese of Neyyattinkara was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Trivandrum as a suffragan.

The diocese of Neyyattinkara comprises the Taluks Nedumangad and Neyyattinkara in the state of Kerala , located in the district of Thiruvananthapuram .
