The Bistum Viana ( lat. : Dioecesis Viananensis ) is in Angola preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Viana . It includes the municipalities: Palanca, Buon Gesù, Calumbo, Catete, Barra di Kuanza, Cabo Ledo, Mumbondo, Kilamba Kiaxi, Demba Chio, Muxima and Massangano.

history

Pope Benedict XVI founded it on June 6, 2007 from cession of territory by the Archdiocese of Luanda , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese. First local Ordinary was Joaquim Ferreira Lopes OFM Cap .
