The diocese of Wuhu ( lat. : Dioecesis Uhuvensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Wuhu .

history

The diocese of Wuhu was founded on August 8, 1921 by Pope Benedict XV. established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Kiangnan as Apostolic Vicariate Nganhoei . On December 3, 1924, the Apostolic Vicariate Nganhoei was renamed Apostolic Vicariate Wuhu .

The Apostolic Vicariate Wuhu was on April 11, 1946 by Pope Pius XII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Anking as a suffragan .
