Björn Blaschke (born June 6, 1978 in Reutlingen ) is a German professional boxer.

Amateur career

The trained painter and varnisher has boxed for VFL Pfullingen since 1988. As a guest boxer, he appeared several times for SV Nordhausen in the 2nd Bundesliga and the Oberliga Süd in their team relay. The 1.93 meter tall giant won several times the South German and Württemberg amateur championships in heavy and light heavyweight and also qualified several times for the German championships.

Professional career

As a regular former sparring partner of the Rottweiler heavyweight professional Luan Krasniqi, Blaschke already had a professional preliminary contract with the Hamburg boxing stable Universum Box-Promotion in 2002 . But there was no further collaboration.

In 2008, Blaschke convinced the management of Wiking-Boxteam as a sparring partner of European champion Sebastian Sylvester and received a professional contract from boxing manager Winfried Spiering.

On December 21, 2008 he had his first professional fight in the Universal Hall in Berlin . Blaschke won against the experienced Roy Meissner by TKO in the 2nd round.

After his successful professional debut , however, there were discrepancies between him and his management. In April 2009 Björn Blaschke separated from the Wiking boxing team and then tried to continue his professional career on his own. Exactly 441 days after his professional debut, Blaschke played his second professional fight this time in the cruiserweight division . He is now boxing for the Punch Up boxing team.

On December 4, 2010 Blaschke won the WBF International Cruiserweight Championship against former Thai boxer Jonathan Pasi. As a result, he has moved up to 3rd place in the world rankings of the WBF.

On October 22, 2011 Blaschke lost in the Paul-Horn-Arena in Tübingen against the Ghanaian Ben Nsafoah with 3-0 points in the fight for the Intercontinental title of the WBF . Even his most recent fight, on March 17, 2012 compared to Poland Izu Ugonoh , lost Blaschke. This time through technical knockout.
