Black Prophecy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Black Prophecy was a space-based, action-oriented massively multiplayer online role-playing game in the first-person shooter style (from a cockpit perspective) that was developed by the German developer studio Reakktor Media . It was published in March 2011 by the publisher Gamigo in the free-to-play distribution model and was discontinued at the end of September 2012.

Content and background

The Black Prophecy universe and the backstory come from the award-winning sci-fi writer Michael Marrakech .

There were two factions in the game, one of which the player had to join: the cybernetic improved Tyi and the biogenetically perfected Genides .

technology

According to the manufacturer, the game with the latest graphics engine offered fast-paced battles without long travel times and other activities. Large organized PvP battles and numerous different PvP missions were a major focus of the game.

more details

A modular ship design was offered: player ships were not available as a whole, but consisted of different modules, such as B. cockpits, wings , engines , etc. All these modules were available in different shapes and sizes and allowed the player to adapt the ship to his own wishes and ideas. In addition to the modular ship system, players could further improve their ships by installing modifications for ship modules and weapons.

Other main features of the game: modular clan stations ( player clans could set up their own space stations, which were functionally expandable via a modular system), a resource system (clans could fight with other clans for resource stations and conquer them), awards and medals (achievement system for coping with special tasks ) and tactical mastery (players could learn different tactics and thus fly breakneck maneuvers).

In an expansion of the game announced for 2012, players should be able to move freely on space stations, interact with other players and set up their own accommodations for themselves.

The end of Black Prophecy

On August 29, 2012, it was officially announced that Black Prophecy would cease operations on September 26, 2012. The reasons given were financial difficulties.
