The Blackberry Q10 (spelling: BlackBerry Q10 ) is a smartphone from the Canadian manufacturer Blackberry . The device was first presented on January 30, 2013 together with the Z10 . Compared to the previous model, the Bold 9900 , Blackberry did without the control bar below the touchscreen and the curved keyboard. Blackberry 10 is the standard operating system . Chancellor Angela Merkel uses an encrypted Q10 as a work phone.

The system can be navigated using a touchscreen . Text is entered using the full QWERTY keyboard, which was already used in the Bold and Curve model series . Above the screen there is a hardware button to lock or unlock the device. On the right side there are 3 more buttons for regulating the volume, optionally the voice assistant can be called up by pressing a button. The functions are freely assignable. The operating system allows you to answer an e-mail or short message directly from any app. Furthermore, the user in the so-called Blackberry Hub is given a summary of all incoming and outgoing messages. The view can be personalized and prioritized as required.

The Q10 has a 3.1-inch touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 1: 1 (i.e. square) with an AMOLED resolution of 720px both horizontally and vertically . In addition to a camera on the back (8 megapixels), the device also has a front camera (2 megapixels). Both cameras are able to record videos. Various sensors are also installed , for example to measure the acceleration or the earth's magnetic field. The Q10 is charged via a micro USB port. The lithium-ion battery is replaceable and has a capacity of 2100 mAh, according to the manufacturer, the device can be used in standby mode for up to 2 weeks. The HDMI output can be used to transfer multimedia images to another device, e.g. B. a projector to produce. 16 GB of memory is built-in internally , which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. An NFC antenna (not visible from the outside) is built into the housing cover , which, with the appropriate software, enables contactless z. B. to solve a ticket for local transport.
