The Blackwater River is a tributary of the River Loddon in southern England. It arises on the southwestern outskirts of Aldershot on the border between Surrey and Hampshire . It flows to the south of Aldershot in an easterly direction. It turns north west of Tongham and then flows further east of Aldershot. Between Aldershot and Farnborough it passes under the Basingstoke Canal . Until it turns its course to the northwest between Camberley and Blackwater , it forms the border between Surrey and Hampshire. Then it forms the border between Hampshire and Berkshire to the mouth of the River Whitewater , from where it flows all the way into Berkshire to its confluence with the River Loddon north of Swallowfield .
