Blaise Giezendanner (born November 29, 1991 in Chamonix ) is a French ski racer . He mainly starts in the Downhill and Super-G disciplines .
biography
At the age of 15, Giezendanner first took part in FIS races in December 2006 . In the following years he drove in all disciplines; There were no significant successes for the time being, so that he could never take part in the Junior World Championships. From January 2010 he also started in the European Cup , but also there largely unsuccessfully. Gradually he began to specialize in the fast downhill and super-G disciplines. In his World Cup debut on February 23, 2013 in the downhill from Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he finished 53rd.
At the Winter Universiade 2013, which took place in the Italian region of Trentino , Giezendanner won three medals: the gold in the Super-G and a silver one each in the downhill and in the combination. During the 2014/15 season he achieved two podium places in the European Cup. He won his first World Cup points on February 21, 2015 as the 27th on the downhill run from Saalbach-Hinterglemm . From the 2015/16 season he was regularly scoring points in the World Cup. On February 7th, 2016 he surprised everyone with the 8th place in the Super-G of Jeongseon , two weeks later two more top 10 results followed in his home town of Chamonix.
