Blanca Imboden

Blanca Imboden (born December 16, 1962 in Ibach SZ ) is a Swiss writer .

Career

At the age of 18 she recorded the album Face the Music ( Ariola ) under the stage name "Bee Bach" and was then a member of various professional dance bands. Together with her partner Hans Gotthardt († 2018) she founded the “Duo Tandem”. She was a professional musician for 13 years.

Then Blanca Imboden worked for 14 years as an editorial assistant and editorial secretary at the Neue Schwyzer Zeitung .

From January 2014 to May 2015 she worked part-time for a cable car on the Stoos , and since April 2018 for the Stanserhorn-Bahn .

Her first two books were published in 1997 and 1999 by a Swiss pay publisher , her third book in 2005 by Books on Demand . In 2009, Piper Verlag signed the author and published three novels. Initially with little success: “For a long time no pig wanted to read my books,” as she herself put it.

When she switched to Wörterseh Verlag in 2012, she achieved her breakthrough as a bestselling author: With Hiking is Stupid and Three Women in the Snow , she was on the Swiss bestseller list for 30 weeks in 2013. With Frank Baumann as co-author and illustrator, a book series for young people was created with the title Schule ist stupid . In addition to the books, she writes columns for the newspaper Südostschweiz on weekends .
