Blankenau is part of the city of Beverungen in the district of Höxter , North Rhine-Westphalia . Blankenau is located in the Weserbergland on the border with Lower Saxony . The state border with Hesse is 10 km south of the town .

history

In 1315 Prince Ruprecht zu Corvey and Theoderich zu Paderborn had Blankenau Castle built.

Until it was incorporated on January 1, 1970, Blankenau was an independent municipality in the Beverungen district .
