La Blanquilla ( Spanish Isla La Blanquilla ) is a Venezuelan island in the Caribbean Sea , about 300 km northeast of Caracas , the capital of Venezuela , and about 90 km north of Isla Margarita . Geographically, the island belongs to the islands under the wind , administratively to the Venezuelan Dependencias Federales (federal territories).

La Blanquilla has a fan-like shape with a circumference of about 55 km and a land area of 64.53 km². It reaches a maximum height of 30 m above sea level. The uninhabited island is surrounded by coral reefs with black corals and is therefore a popular destination for divers.

On La Blanquilla, the Venezuelan Navy operates a coast guard station ( Estación Secundaria de Guardacostas ), which is subordinate to the main station Pampatar on Margarita Island .
