The Blees is a good 20 km long, north and left tributary of the Sauer (Sûre) in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg .

The Blees rises at a height of about 510 m between Holzthum and Wahlhausen .

It flows through the area of ​​the municipalities of Hoscheid and Tandel and runs in its valley, which is partially cut deep into the Ardennes , through the villages of Brandenbourg (German: Brandenburg, last: Branebuerg) and Bastendorf , both districts of the municipality of Tandel.

It finally flows into the Sauer from the left at an altitude of 185 m at Bleesbrück .
