Lead (II) titanate is a toxic chemical compound consisting of the elements lead , titanium and oxygen with the empirical formula PbTiO 3 . As the lead salt of titanic acid (H x Ti y O z ), it is one of the titanates . Lead (II) titanate is a yellow, water-insoluble powder.

At higher temperatures, lead titanate adopts a cubic perovskite structure . When the Curie temperature of 447 ° C is reached, the material becomes ferroelectric and takes on a tetragonal structure. Lead titanate is one of the end links in the phase diagram of lead zirconate titanate , a ferroelectric ceramic, where the zirconium content is zero and the titanium content is a maximum.
