action

Lotte is in her mid- thirties and has a steady relationship with her yuppie-like friend Rainer. Over time, Rainer has gained the upper hand in the relationship and gives his girlfriend little freedom. He plans his life without taking his girlfriend's needs into account: Lotte would like to concentrate on her new job first, then she would like to give birth to Rainer his child.

She drives to the airport to clear her head on a short vacation. Lotte actually just wants to relax for a moment, take a deep breath and think about the perfect life plan of her friend Rainer, in which she has almost nothing to say. However, nothing comes of the spontaneous short vacation, because when Lotte awkwardly calls Rainer from the airport to tell him and explain her emotional state, he promptly blocks her account card before she can buy a ticket. In the airport café, the stranded Lotte meets the dropout Henrik. He scrapped his car and threw all his furniture down a dump and now wants to start a new life in Australia despite the fear of flying. He spontaneously invited Lotte to accompany him to Australia and offered her an unnecessary flight ticket. Lotte now faces a difficult decision. Should she risk the step into her own but risky life or should she return to the secure but restrictive relationship with Rainer?

The film had its world premiere at the Berlinale 2007.

criticism

“Ambitious graduation film that is becoming increasingly dense and, despite some clichés, retains enough independence. Exquisitely played, impressively accompanied by music. "
