particularities highest elevation in the Hils

The bare cell is the highest elevation of the Hils and the Alfelder Bergland ( Ith-Hils-Bergland ) at 480  m . It is on the border of the districts of Holzminden and Hildesheim , a good 4 km northeast of Eschershausen .

With a dominance of 18 km and a prominence of around 235 m, the Hils and Blöse are among the most sublime mountain ranges and peaks in the Lower Saxon mountainous region .

According to the imagination and pretense of the local population around the year 1654, witches - like on the Brocken in the Harz - should also hold their dances on the Bare Cell on Walpurgis Night .
