Production and broadcast

At the beginning of November 2013 RTL announced that it was planning to adapt the Australian prison series Wentworth . The series is produced by UFA Serial Drama . In early 2014, there was much speculation about Sıla Şahin's involvement in the television series. This turned out to be correct in January 2015 when Şahin publicly announced that she would play a brothel operator on the series. It was also announced that the series could be called Reutlitz in Germany . In mid-June 2014 the announcement of the cast began. Katrin Sass and Nina Hoger as well as Claudia Michelsen were able to secure the first leading roles , while the role of the leading actress was cast with Gisa Zach . The shooting of the first ten episodes took place between March 10 and June 8, 2014 in Berlin-Tempelhof.

Initially, a broadcast was planned for autumn 2014, but RTL pushed the TV series into spring 2015. The first season was from March 12, 2015 to April 30, 2015 on the channel following Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei . On July 26, 2015, RTL announced that it would not produce a second season due to low viewership.
