action

The psychopathic Uncle Anwar visits his two nephews George and Michael Tutman while fleeing the police. He reminds her to keep practicing black magic . When he comes outside, he is shot by the police and dies.

20 years pass, the brothers grow up and run a vegetarian restaurant. They dig up their uncle's corpse and bring his brain back to life. George and Michael find out that he was a follower of the ancient Lumian goddess Sheetar. His command is to reconstruct the goddess using human body parts in order to bring her back to life.

The two immediately set to work to complete his work. They collect body parts and slowly put the goddess together. In order to complete their “work of art”, they hold a celebration in their diner . While the partygoers are enjoying themselves, they bring the goddess to life. The party guests turn into zombies . Before George, Michael and the now reanimated Anwar can sacrifice a virgin to the goddess, two police officers storm the club and overpower the three. However, Sheetar flees and walks through the city streets.

background

Blood Diner and Nachtakademie were the first films by PMS-Filmworks, a production company founded by Jackie Kong, Jimmy Maslon, Ellen Steloff and Lawrence Kasanoff. Nachtakademie became a slapstick comedy and should actually be the flagship of the label, while Blood Diner should only be included in the program of the investor Vestron. However, financial bottlenecks and skeptical producers ensured that the shooting of both films overlapped and Jackie Kong had to shoot at the same time. Blood Diner became the more successful film. Ultimately, however, PMS went bankrupt.

The film was heavily censored, particularly in the UK and Germany. The German version had to be shortened by about seven minutes for an FSK-18. It wasn't until 2004 that an uncut version, limited to 3,000 copies, was released on the Dragon Film Entertainment label . For February 2010 an uncut version was surprisingly announced after being re-examined from the age of 16. The film has since been downgraded to FSK-16 and is available as such on DVD.

Reviews

“With a biting, accurate joke, mocking American way of life and philosophy, horror film parody, which skillfully reconstructs motifs from trivial cinema. A wild satire for a relevant interested audience. "
