history

The metalhead Karan Katiyar originally had the idea of creating a YouTube channel on which he covered well-known Bollywood songs in metal style. At first there was no suitable singer until Katiyar met Jayant Bhadula at a concert, who had worked as a talent scout up to now. Katiyar quit his lawyer position in 2016 and founded Bloodywood together with Bhadula, initially as a two-man band. 2017 coverte Bloody Wood the song Heavy from Linkin Park , which the attention of some leading metal websites like Loudwire and Metal Hammer excited. As a result, Bloodywood published more covers and the cover album Anti-Pop Vol. 1 on their Bandcamp page in 2017 .

On May 1, 2018 Bloodywood released the single Ari, Ari , in collaboration with rapper Raoul Kerr , which is based on the Panjabi folk song Baarsi Barsi . Katiyar met Kerr while working on a lyric video and initially supported Bloodywood independently with the option to become a permanent member. Ari, Ari received a lot of positive feedback from the fans, Katiyar Karan and Bhadula decided to write more of their own metal songs, which should, however, be influenced by Indian music. Bloodywood wanted to get involved socially on a large scale and a partnership with the website "HopeTherapie" was established. For this purpose Bloodywood released the song Jee Veerey , which is dedicated to the fight against depression and mental illness. In January 2019, the song Endurant followed , which has the topic of bullying and this is also made clear in the video.

In 2019 the band played as part of their European tour a. a. at the Wacken Open Air and the Taman Festival in Russia .
