action

15-year-old Mia Weber moves to Zurich with her parents because her father is starting a new job there. She has to get used to a new class in the middle of the school year. She befriends a group of girls who are considered problem students. The group led by Gianna experiments with sex , drugs , shoplifting and forging signatures .

Mia feels further and further removed from her parents and confides in a doctor as her toes grow together. The doctor is confused when Mia's statements that her toes were normal until a few days ago because syndactilia is hereditary . Mia wakes up in the night and drinks a glass of water with salt in it. The next day she eats two goldfish from her mother's aquarium and then vomits. Mia is clear: the changes she's going through aren't just related to puberty .

Right before her 16th birthday, Mia tries to find out the truth about herself. She realizes that there are no pictures of her mother showing her pregnant. The mother weighs it down and says that the pictures must be in the moving boxes somewhere. Mia's question as to why she is not like her parents remains unanswered. Meanwhile, her lower body is changing. Your legs will have dark spots at first, then become scaly. Mia hides these changes as her life with her friends becomes more and more excessive.

After another wild night of partying, Mia wakes up to find that her legs have turned into a fin. She calls her friend Gianna. The two drive to the sea, where Mia says she is not afraid, calls her mother one last time and then swims away.
