Between 1948 and 1955 he played in the US professional NBA for the Rochester Royals team . Davies was six feet tall and played the guard position . Together with Bobby Wanzer , Davies formed one of the best backcourt duos in NBA history and led the Royals to win the NBA championship in 1951 .
