Bobbie Traksel (born November 3, 1981 in Tiel ) is a Dutch cyclist .

Career

Bobbie Traksel won the Ronde van Vlaanderen for U23 drivers in 2000 . He then drove for Rabobank as a stagiaire , got a professional contract for the following season and stayed there until the end of the 2004 season.

2002 was his most successful year so far: He won the Dutch one-day race Veenendaal-Veenendaal and one stage each in the Ster Elektrotoer and the Saxony Tour . After that he had knee problems. In 2008 and 2010 he was able to build on his earlier successes: in 2008 he won the three days of West Flanders stage race and in 2010 the semi-classic Kuurne – Brussels – Kuurne .

In the 2014 season, Traksel ended his career as an active cyclist. In 2015 he was elected President of the newly constituted Athletes Commission of the Union Cycliste Internationale .
