The Bobenthaler Knopf is a 534 m high mountain in the southeastern Wasgau , as the southern part of the Palatinate Forest is also called together with the northern part of the Vosges .
The mountain is completely within the district of Bobenthal , from which it owes its name. It is located about two kilometers east of their settlement area. In the west it falls relatively flat to the valley of the Wieslauter , to the east it falls much steeper to the valley of the Reisbach . The Bobenthaler Kopf is covered by mixed forest. It forms the center of the 319 hectare “Bobenthaler Knopf core zone” of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park . About 1.5 kilometers to the south are the knight stones spoon cross and donkey grinding house .
