Bochumer Strasse 50 (Herne)
The Villa Bochum Straße 50 in Herne is under monument protection standing monument . The villa on the west side of Bochumer Strasse, in the area between Kronprinzenstrasse and Otto-Hue-Strasse, was built in 1897 based on a design by the Herne architect Peter Otzen in the neo-Renaissance style .
history
The architect who planned the villa, Peter Otzen , whose oeuvre is largely unknown, in 1895, also in the neo-renaissance style, presented a draft for the renovation and expansion of the office building of the Office of Herne, Steinweg 3 (today An der Kreuzkirche ) at the corner of Schulstrasse ( Lage ) did not find its realization. Bochumer Strasse begins at the Kreuzkirche, for which Otzen designed the two -story , detached villa with six to three axes two years later .

The villa plot today comprises almost 1500 m² with a depth of almost 53 meters and an average width of a good 28 meters. The front of the villa is about five meters behind the street (a good eight meters before it is widened). The building, which is roughly 16 by 14 meters (width by depth) and is closed at the top with a hipped roof , covers around 295 m² in terms of its base.
