Bogusław "Bobby" Maj (* 18th January 1960 in Sobieszów ) is a former Polish ice hockey player , who in his active between 1979 and 1997, including for the Kölner EC , Dusseldorf EC , Eintracht Frankfurt and the EC Hedos Munich in ice hockey Bundesliga has played.

Career

Bogusław Maj began his career with Podhale Nowy Targ . After going through the Polish youth national teams, he played for the Polish national team . In November 1981 he traveled to Germany with the Polish national team for the first time and played there against the German national team in Rosenheim. In the spring of 1982 he took part in the 1982 B World Cup in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . During the tournament, Maj managed to break away along with his teammates Justyn Denisiuk and Andrzej Małysiak . The players stayed in Austria for half a year and then applied for asylum in Germany . Denisiuk and Maj joined the EV Füssen and stayed fit there during the 18-month international ban. The then coach Gerhard Kießling took care of the young Polish players. Denisiuk and Maj stayed in Füssen for a year, then they moved to Iserlohn with Gerhard Kießling. When Gerhard Kießling was released from work in Iserlohn, he placed her at the EC in Cologne .

Shortly after the start of the 1984/85 season , the two were eligible to play and made their debut on September 28, 1984 for the KEC. In the 1985/86 season , Cologne won the championship and defended the title the following year. Maj scored eight goals in nine play-off games. After a season with the Düsseldorfer EG , he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt . In his second season there he was able to score only one goal in 18 games in the first few months and was handed over to the promoted EC Hedos Munich , where he again became a top performer. His last season in the Bundesliga was 1991/92 . There were three more seasons at ETC Timmendorfer Strand before he played for REV Bremerhaven in the 1996/97 season and ended his active career at the end of the season.
