Bohodar Kotorovych

Bohodar Antonowytsch Kotorowytsch ( Russian / Ukrainian Богодар Антонович Которович , also transcribed Bogodar Kotorovytsch ; born July 3, 1941 in Hrubieszów ; † July 4, 2009 in Kiev ) was a Ukrainian violinist .

Life

Bohodar Kotorowytsch studied at the Lviv Conservatory and the Moscow Conservatory . In 1971 he won 2nd prize at both the Paganini Competition in Genoa and the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest . In 1984 he founded the chamber orchestra “Kiev Soloists”, which won the Grand Prix of the 30th Vienna International Music Competition. From 1994 he was professor of violin at the University of Sydney . He also taught at the National Music Academy of Ukraine Peter Tchaikovsky . Kotorowytsch was a juror at the ARD competition in Munich , the Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow , the Paganini competition in Genoa and the Benjamin Britten competition in London .
