Bolotbek Shamschiev
Bolotbek uulu Tölön Schamschijew ( Kyrgyz Болотбек Төлөн уулу Шамшиев , Russian Болотбек Толенович Шамшиев Bolotbek Tolenowitsch Schamschijew * 12. January 1941 in Frunze , Kyrgyz SSR ; † 21st December 2019 in Bishkek , Kyrgyzstan ) was a Kyrgyz film director and screenwriter .
Life
Shamschiev finished his studies in 1965 at the film school in Moscow with a diploma in documentary film . Two years earlier he had already appeared artistically as an actor, but without causing any reactions worth mentioning. His first work, the documentary Manastschi , was awarded the Grand Prize at the rather small International Festival of Oberhausen , as was his later work The Shepherd .
At the end of the 1960s he turned to the feature film and directed his first work Der Schuß am Pass (1969), followed by other film productions. In 1980 he presented his anti-war film, Early Cranes, as well as the contemporary flick From the capital, a girl came as part of the IX. Festival of Soviet cinema and television films in the GDR .
Outside of film work, the avowed Democrat hit the headlines in November 2002 when he was briefly arrested during a protest march against the Kyrgyz government around President Askar Akayev .
