Bonifácio Piccinini

Bonifácio Piccinini SDB (born May 13, 1929 in Luiz Alves ) is a Brazilian religious and senior archbishop of Cuiabá .

Life

Bonifácio Piccinini joined the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and was ordained a priest on February 11, 1960 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 27, 1975 as coadjutor archbishop of Cuiabá and titular archbishop pro hac vice of Turres in Byzacena . The apostolic nuncio in Brazil , Archbishop Carmine Rocco , donated him episcopal ordination on August 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Orlando Chaves SDB, Archbishop of Cuiabá, and Antônio Afonso de Miranda SDN , Bishop of Lorena .

With the death of Orlando Chaves on August 15, 1981, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Cuiabá. On June 9, 2004, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
