Bora "YellOwStaR" Kim (born February 15, 1992 ) is a former French e-athlete in the League of Legends discipline . He initially played on the position of AD Carries and then moved to the support position. He was under contract with Fnatic before leaving active sport . He then worked as Head of E-Sports and coach of the League of Legends department at Paris Saint-Germain .

Career

Before his time as a League of Legends player, YellOwStaR played Warcraft 3 at a semi-professional level . Among other things, he reached second place in the French championship ( ESL Pro Series France - Season 4) in 2008 .

YellOwStaR made it into the League of Legends in 2010 at against All authority as ADC. After a 2nd place at the IEM Season V - LoL Invitational in Germany and a 2nd place at the first World Cup , YellOwStaR moved with his entire team to Millenium , only to switch back to against All authority a short time later.

After a rather disappointing first half of 2012 with a 5th – 6th Place at the IEM Season VI - World Championship, YellOwStaR switched to Millenium on a test basis in order to leave it again quickly. With its new team SK Gaming , YellOwStaR was able to qualify for the 2012 World Cup in Los Angeles. SK Gaming was eliminated there in the group stage. In December 2012, YellOwStaR left SK Gaming to join Fnatic . At the same time, YellOwStaR switched to the support position. With Fnatic, YellOwStaR qualified for the League of Legends Championship Series, which was founded at the end of 2012 .

YellOwStaR was able to win the Spring and Summer Split of the League of Legends Championship Series with Fnatic and was thus also qualified for the 3rd World Cup. There Fnatic was eliminated in the semifinals.

YellOwStaR stayed with Fnatic with whom he won the Spring Split of the European League of Legends Championship Series in 2014. YellOwStaR finished the summer split with Fnatic in 2nd place behind Alliance . This qualified for the 4th World Cup. There Fnatic was eliminated in the group stage.

For the 5th season all players except YellOwStaR left Fnatic . He became known for rebuilding Fnatic. YellOwStaR was the leader and team captain of the very young team. By winning the Spring Split 2015, Fnatic was qualified for the first Mid-Season Invitational . There the team made it to the semi-finals. After a change to the ADC position, Fnatic was able to play a perfect regular split in the summer split without a loss. This 18-0 record had been unique up until then. In the same style, Fnatic was able to win the Summer Split and was qualified for the 5th World Cup in Europe. After a strong group stage and a clear quarter-final win against Edward Gaming, Fnatic failed in the semi-finals at the KOO Tigers. YellOwStaR left Fnatic at the end of 2015 to look for a new challenge in North America. There he then joined Team SoloMid .

With his new team, YellOwStaR reached 2nd place in the spring split of the North American League of Legends Championship Series . Since YellOwStaR never quite found his role in the team, he left SoloMid after this split team to rejoin Fnatic . Fnatic finished the Summer Split on a disappointing 5th – 6th. Space. In addition, the team did not manage to qualify for the 6th World Cup via the Regional Qualifiers .

On October 19, 2016, YellOwStaR announced that it would end its active career as an e-athlete . Just one day later it was announced that YellOwStaR is now the Head of Esports at Paris Saint-Germain eSports . The goal there is to build a team for the League of Legends Championship Series . In October 2017, the collaboration between Kim and PSG ended after missing qualification for the LCS.
