Bora Roković
Borislav Bora Roković (born July 19, 1925 in Veliki Beckerek ; † July 13, 2006 in Cologne ) was a Serbian jazz musician ( piano , composition ).
Live and act
Roković was a pianist in the Radio Belgrade dance orchestra for a long time . In August 1962 he was heard and seen with it and with his own quartet on the TV show Jazz . In 1962 he succeeded Francis Coppieter's pianist in the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra , of which he was a member until the end of 1971. He had occasionally worked as an arranger for the Edelhagen Orchestra since 1957. In 1972 he moved to the WDR dance orchestra, from which, with him, the WDR Big Band Cologne emerged. He also arranged and composed for Edelhagen and for the WDR Big Band. Among other things, he wrote a Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra , which he collaborated withFriedrich Höricke and the WDR orchestra recorded. In addition to the mentioned orchestras he is also on plates with Dusko Goykovich , the Metropole Orkest , the Yugoslav Jazz All Stars, with Milo Pavlović , Milivoje Marković , Heinz Kiessling , Caterina Valente ( Kurt Weill - American Songs ), Lala Kovačev and Helmut Weglinski to hear .
