Tony Inzalaco

Tony Inzalaco (born January 14, 1938 in Passaic , New Jersey) is an American modern jazz drummer .

Live and act

Inzalaco started drumming when he was eight. He earned a bachelor's degree from New York's Manhattan School of Music , followed by a master of arts degree in music education and a bachelor of arts degree in percussion . He then worked with Billy Taylor , Johnny Smith , Buddy Rich , Vinnie Burke , Maynard Ferguson , Jim Hall , Chris Connor , Ben Webster , Jaki Byard and Lee Konitz, among others .

Between 1968 and 1972 Inzalaco worked in Germany as an employed musician in the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra for radio, television and record companies. He also worked as a percussionist in the Kenny Clarke / Francy Boland Big Band . Then he was a member of the trio of Eugen Cicero . In 1978 he returned to the USA to work as a freelance musician in and around Boston . He has been active on the west coast since 2005. With his own quintet he recorded the album Real Life Real Live Vol.1 (2006).

He has made many appearances on television alongside musicians such as Chris Connor , Maynard Ferguson , Carmen McRae , Oscar Peterson , Clark Terry , Ben Webster . Inzalaco has also played at countless jazz festivals around the world.
