Vinnie Burke
Vinnie Burke (actually Vincent Bucci, born March 15, 1921 in Newark (New Jersey) , † February 1, 2001 in New York City ) was an American jazz bassist .
Life
Vinnie Burke played with Joe Mooney , Tony Scott and Cy Coleman in the first half of the 1940s , and later with the Sauter-Finegan Orchestra , Tal Farlow , Marian McPartland , Don Elliott , Vic Dickenson , Gil Mellé , Bucky Pizzarelli and Bobby Hackett . In the 1950s Burke also led his own formations (including with Dick Wetmore ) and recorded a number of albums. Otherwise he was the sideman of Chris Connor , Joe Puma , Eddie Shu and many other musicians.
