Borchardus de Osta
Borchardus de Osta (* in the Diocese of Bremen ; † September 20 in Lübeck ) was Council Secretary of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and Lübeck Canon .
Life
Borchardus de Osta derived its original name from the Oste , a tributary of the Lower Elbe in the diocese of Bremen. In 1392 he enrolled at the University of Erfurt , probably at the beginning of his studies . At the University of Bologna , he was in 1405 for licentiate of canon law doctorate. Afterwards he was first vicar at the Katharinenkirche in Hamburg . Since August 1408, after the old council was expelled from the city, he can be traced back to Lübeck as council secretary, where he kept the register of the upper town . From 1411 he is the first council secretary ( protonotary ) of the city. He can be traced back to this office until 1412. From September 1416, after the return of the Old Council, Borchardus de Osta appears as canon of the cathedral chapter of Lübeck Cathedral and is last mentioned as such on February 3, 1443. In addition, he was archdeacon in Dardesheim and canon in Halberstadt in 1431 .
