Boris Yevstafievich Butoma
Boris Jewstafjewitsch Butoma ( Russian Борис Евстафьевич Бутома * April 28 jul. / 11. May 1907 greg. In Port-Petrovsk , † 11. June 1976 ) was a high-ranking politicians in the Soviet Union , in the years 1957 to 1976 Minister of the shipbuilding industry was.
Life
He was born on in the port city of Petrovsk in the Temir-Khan-Shurinsky district of the Dagestan region (today the city of Makhachkala). He began his career in 1920 as a metal worker at a shipyard in Sevastopol, where he worked until 1932. In 1936 he graduated from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute and received the qualification "Ship Engineer".
From 1936–1944 he worked in Vladivostok at the then shipyard No. 202 as a foreman, transfer mechanic, shipbuilder, head of the factory department and finally as deputy chief engineer of the factory.
He was involved in the development of a number of icebreakers for the North Sea route. In 1942 he was accepted on an expedition by pilot ships in the Far East to the north and the Baltic Sea. 1944–1948 he worked in Zelenodolsk at the former shipyard No. 340 as chief engineer and then as director.
From March 1953 to April 1954 he was head of the 4th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Transport and Heavy Engineering of the USSR.
From 1961 he was a deputy member and from 1966 a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU. He was a member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
His grave can be found in the Novodevichy Cemetery .

Appreciation
A memorial was unveiled in Vladivostok on May 5, 1982. An avenue in the city of Severodvinsk , streets in the cities of Kaluga and Mykolaiv , and a square in Sevastopol bear his name. A tanker in the Pacific Fleet was also named after him.
